1.4In Year 2009, a worldwide well-known stainless steel manufacturer group, based at Spain, were decided to set up a new integrated plant at Tanjung Langsat, Johor. This plant able to produce high quality stainless steel products for industry with different finishes and types of stainless steel, from raw material to finishing goods. One of key challenges during construction period was the complicated machine foundations and steel structural works at the manufacturing workshop AP2. Machine foundation was made of reinforced concrete structure with different level, depth, width, slope and embedded machine/equipment hold down bolt/steel members. The total weight of steel structure for AP2 was 4000 tonnes and most of the hot rolled steel used was European Profile. The crane girder was 20m long and formed up by plates with height of 2.1m (average weight was 14 tonne/pc). The built up twin columns was fabricated in one single piece with total length 26m (average weight was 22 tonne/pc).
